THIS THURSDAY: BUD BUNDY TRIBUTE NIGHT!

This Thursday we’re doing something a little different at the Bundy Club.

David isn’t able to make our full session this week, although there’s a chance he may pop in for a few minutes.

And I started thinking…

If David isn’t going to be here, WHAT BETTER TIME TO DO A BUD BUNDY TRIBUTE NIGHT?

Think about it.

We can finally talk openly about Bud without having to stare at David’s face on Zoom while we do it. 😂

We can be a little more carefree. A little more honest.

What did you LOVE about Bud?

What drove you crazy about him?

What were his greatest moments? His most embarrassing moments? His best attempts with the ladies? His worst?

Grandmaster B. The schemes. The victories. The MANY defeats.

For one night, let’s really break down the life and times of Bud Bundy.

BUT THEN I WANT TO TAKE IT ONE STEP FURTHER…

WHAT HAPPENED TO BUD BUNDY?

Let’s imagine the Married… with Children universe never really ended.

It’s 2026.

Where is Bud today?

What does he do for a living?

Did he ever become successful?

Is he still trying to pick up women?

Did Bud Bundy somehow end up MARRIED… WITH CHILDREN himself?

Who would he have married? What kind of father would Bud be? Is Grandmaster B still lurking somewhere inside him?

And what about everybody else?

Where’s Kelly? What would Al Bundy be like today? What about Peggy? What does the Bundy family look like in 2026?

And here’s the bigger question…

IF BUD BUNDY GOT HIS OWN SHOW TODAY, WHAT WOULD THAT SHOW BE?

You guys are the SUPER FANS. You know these characters inside and out.

So let’s create our own present-day Married… with Children universe together.

And this is also why I’m REALLY hoping our own Richard Gurman can join us Thursday.

Richard was a writer and co-executive producer on Married… with Children.

So if we get him on, I want to ask him:

“Okay Richard, you’re back in the writers’ room. It’s 2026. Bud Bundy is back. What are we doing?”

Where would he take Bud?

How would he write Al today? Kelly? Peggy?

What would change after 29 years, and maybe more importantly, what about these characters should NEVER change?

How do you bring Married… with Children into 2026 without losing what made the original so damn funny?

And then Richard gets to hear YOUR ideas.

That could be a lot of fun.

BUT I ALSO REALLY WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU.

It’s been 29 YEARS since the final episode of Married… with Children aired.

And yet here we all are.

Still watching it.
Still quoting it.
Still laughing at it.
Still talking about these characters.

And now we’re all part of a club built around a television show that ended almost three decades ago.

That’s pretty amazing when you think about it.

So WHY?

What did Married… with Children mean to you when you first watched it?

How old were you? Who did you watch it with?

Who was your favorite character?

What episodes or moments have stayed with you?

Does watching it today take you back to a certain time in your life?

And why do you think THIS SHOW has stayed so important to you 29 years after the final episode?

THAT’S what I want to hear Thursday.

What should we add that we haven’t even thought of yet?

This is YOUR club. I want you guys to have a voice in where we take it.

One of my favorite things about what we’ve built is that our community now includes so many people who were actually part of Married… with Children.

Officer Dan. Griff. Bob Rooney. Frank the Stuntman. The NO MA’AM guys. Richard Gurman.

They and others have become part of our Bundy Club family, and some have become regulars around here.

And you never know who might pop in.

If I’m going to spend a night getting you guys talking, telling stories, laughing, pitching your version of Bud Bundy in 2026 and explaining your lifelong obsession with the Bundys…

I figured I should bring in somebody who REALLY knows how to work a room.

He’s a hilarious stand-up comedian, professional talk show host, incredible improviser and one of the best crowd-work guys around.

Ben has never been on the Bundy Club before, but he IS a Married… with Children fan, he’s really looking forward to meeting you guys, and I can’t wait to see what happens when we turn him loose on this group.

You may remember Ben from IDIOTEST.

And he didn’t just host it.

Ben was the HOST, HEAD WRITER AND CO-EXECUTIVE PRODUCER of the Emmy-nominated Game Show Network series.

FOUR SEASONS.

So yeah… the guy knows how to host a room full of people and have some fun with them.

Ben was also a regular on CHELSEA LATELY for all seven seasons, making more than 100 appearances on Chelsea Handler’s roundtable.

He’s crushing it.

I’ve worked with Ben before.

I know how funny he is.
I know how quick he is.
