Reminder: Danny Bonaduce visits Bundy Club this Thursday the 20th. DO YOUR HOMEWORK!

This Thursday, August 20th at 6:00 PM Pacific, the legendary Danny Bonaduce is joining us live on the Bundy Breakdown Zoom.

Hello my Bundy family… Hope you all had a nice weekend. Just a reminder that our pal Danny Bonaduce joins the Bundy Club this Thursday the 20th. Don’t forget to do your homework and watch Season 8 Episode 16: “How Green Was My Apple.” Looking forward to catching up with him and you all getting to meet him and ask questions! Any Partridge family fans out there? See you all on Thursday!

Yes, that Danny Bonaduce. The redheaded wisecracker from The Partridge Family. The radio host. The guy who has somehow lived about nine different Hollywood lives. And the man who showed up on Married… with Children in one of the funniest celebrity cameos the show ever did.

We will be watching and breaking down Season 8 Episode 16: “How Green Was My Apple.” This is the classic property-line war between the Bundys and the D’Arcys over a single apple, complete with escalating chaos, Al and Jefferson at their absolute best, and a surprise visit from Danny himself (playing a surveyor who insists he is not that little Partridge kid… right before his old manager shows up and tells him they have to get to Pittsburgh by midnight).

Expect plenty of laughs, behind-the-scenes stories, real-time reactions, and the kind of Bundy Club energy that only happens when one of these legends sits down with us.

Who Is Danny Bonaduce?

Danny Bonaduce was born Dante Daniel Bonaduce on August 13, 1959, in Broomall, Pennsylvania. He became a household name as a kid playing Danny Partridge, the sharp-tongued middle son and bass player of the singing family on The Partridge Family. The show turned him into a 1970s teen idol almost overnight.

After the series ended, Danny’s path took more twists and turns than most. He worked in radio for decades, hosted talk shows, did professional wrestling and celebrity boxing, appeared in films and countless TV guest spots, and built a career as one of the more colorful personalities in entertainment. He has always been open about the ups, downs, and everything in between, which is part of what makes him such a compelling guest.

On Married… with Children, he popped up in “How Green Was My Apple” alongside fellow former child star Gary Coleman. The cameo is pure Bundy: self-aware, ridiculous, and completely committed to the bit. Watching Danny deny being Danny Partridge while Dave Madden (his old Partridge Family co-star) rushes him out the door for a gig is one of those perfect meta moments the show did so well.

What to Expect This Thursday

We will screen the episode, talk through the best moments, and give Danny plenty of room to share stories from the set, from The Partridge Family days, and from the wild ride his career has been. Bring your questions. Whether you want to know about working with Ed O’Neill and the cast, what it was like filming that scene, or anything else from his decades in the business, this is the night to ask.

These Zooms have a way of turning into something bigger than just an episode breakdown, and with Danny in the mix we are expecting exactly that kind of night.

I have to admit, I don’t think I’ve ever watched The Partridge Family. When it originally aired in Germany, I was either not born yet or living in East Germany, and when it was rerun here in the ’90s, I was probably too busy watching RTL. They had some show about an absolutely dysfunctional family… the Bundys or something like that. 🤷🏻‍♀️
But don’t worry — I’m doing my homework like a good student. Already on it!

This episode was pure looney tunes. I loved it.

JUst watched this episode… Not gonna lie, it wasn’t my favorite i had ever watched, that’s for sure. Nothing to do with Danny or Gary. I just thought the writing was not at it’s best. I could also tell that Ed wasn’t into it either, which had nothing to do with laziness or anything even close to it. To the contrary he made a few golden moments work, in spite of the writing not being at it’s best. This was one of those seasons I think he was pissed off about the story lines and writing… we shall discuss while giving Danny his props. See you all tomorrow night.

Interesting. As a kid I liked the episode because it was a prank war and what kid doesn’t like that. I can see possibly thru adult lens these characters were maybe too immature?

Also I love how title is “How green was my apple” but the Apple is actually red!

Season 8 did give us Banking on Marcy though.

Just finished. Few observations about this episode:

As someone who thinks he’s seen everything MWC related, I had no idea there was a credits scene! So I guess I got 30 unseen seconds!

Also I always make note of the sets, etc – The Darcy’s magically gained a window in their bedroom! In other episodes there’s a dresser there!

Finally I think this is the only episode where we see the full Bundy driveway and Marcy’s backyard?

And David, I agree this episode didn’t hold up as I remembered it. Still a fun watch!

interesting observations, Adam. No window in the Darcy’s before? sounds super claustrophobic.

    • Adam on August 20, 2026 at 4:12 am

Well they had an unseen window on the other side. In season 6 Steve returned and the Bundy’s are watching them from Al and Pegs bedroom. That’s what made me realize something was different.

I took a screenshot so I can show the difference if we really want to get boring tonight lol
