Pauly Shore got the dream slot in 90s television, and he is still paying for it.

On a Bundy Club Zoom, Pauly walked through his Fox sitcom Pauly, the short-lived show that landed the cushion spot right after Married with Children. David Faustino remembered the series, then asked the question every network survivor asks: what network was that?

Fox. Right after the Bundys.

That is the kind of lead-in producers would sell a kidney for. You get the Married with Children audience dumped into your living room with the remote still warm. Pauly said the show was funny, that it had the same tone as Married with Children, and that people just did not hook into it. His read on the autopsy was blunt. The premise was wrong for him. They tried to make it work. It did not work. How it happens.

David had forgotten Pauly was on Fox, and he had forgotten Married with Children was the lead-in. Then he delivered the Bundy Club diagnosis with zero mercy: if you mess up a Married with Children lead-in, that is bad news, bro.

Pauly did not argue. He said he knows. He is still paying for it.
