Final episode tidbit
September 2, 2026
Brendan mentioned Chicago Shoe Exchange airing as a final episode. I didn’t want to talk twice tonight but I do have context surrounding this.
Kelly’s wedding ended and FOX had the title card at the end thanking the show.
Right after that they aired a promo saying “It’s not over yet, Married With Children has a bonus episode next month”. It aired in June.
I remembered reading a few years later that the episode was held for “quality” and to be burned off in the summer or syndication.

Yea. That’s weird I remember being duped with the final episode and seeing the wedding and the show didn’t feel like a finale at all
yea. you were duped blame it on the chimp
In my eyes as a fan I always considered the reunion special like a finale kinda cause everyone even Amanda and Ed. Were all together talking about their favorite memories and that felt more like a send off
well yea that reunion was definitely a better send off than that terrible “last episode” lolol
Amen to that! And you actually see Ed and Amanda hugging and embracing. It makes me happy seeing them together. Hate to see any animosity
I know they had their differences in the last few seasons but they both still speak highly of each other
I feel like if given the opportunity they would bury the hatchet. Probably not live on Bundyclub though 😂😂😂
Yea I agree. I think they need a reunion special of some kind. Some filmmaker should do a reunion type documentary on the series, like a long movie or even a streaming series , but get everyone together again for the fans. I’d love to see the cast united I really need to try to go to the next reunion if they have one. I’ve never been on a plane though and to get from PA to CA I’d have to get past my La Bamba fears! Lol
I actually think Damn BUNDYS could’ve been a two part Series Finale. Has a bunch of guest stars and everyone’s in hell and it comes full circle for Al. He has the choice, be done with his family and live the life he always wanted. Or save the lives of his family & neighbors. And when he catches the ball, he finally tells you how he really feels deep down about his family and friends. That he finally accepts and embraces his life as Al Think that would’ve been a great note to go out on. What do you think David? Al not only saves his family, but even Marcy too!
I think I said it before but the episode where Peg gets amnesia would have been a solid final episode.
That was a really good one, which would have been a nice final episode
Right on with the extra info man. I did like that chimp like Al finally got some good help at the shoe store
The chimp was the most competent employee that store ever had, and I include my father in that. Thirty years behind the counter and he got outperformed by an animal who worked for fruit.

I agree but my ONLY issue is that episode was not taped in front of a studio audience. I feel like the final episode has to get the nature of the raucous audience.
I never knew “Damn Bundys” wasn’t in front of the studio audience.
Yea from the special effects needed and certain studio audience laugh tracks I could tell. I also think the one with Marcy’s cousin had similar setup since you know, you can’t have two Amanda’s in one scene.
My bad. I posted the damned BUNDYS thing twice by accident and I can’t delete. Or figure out how to
So the show got a thank you title card and then a promo insisting it was not over. That is the most Bundy ending possible. No closure, no dignity, and somebody in the background still yelling that things are fine. Good catch, Adam.
