Al Bundy Week everyone. It’s a good Sunday to have a Bundy marathon. I prefer the earlier seasons so I’m starting on one @ 5 this morning now I’m half way thru the second. I know these first five by heart from wearing out the dvds. I worked at a target in middle school and high school and I would use my half hr lunch every Tuesday that Sony released them I would run across the highway and a few blocks just to get the dvd set. Then I would spend an all nighter watchin them all. This series never gets old to me. And as you get older you notice the supporting actors a lot more as well. I love that Christina, Dave, Amanda, really made their characters their own and weren’t afraid to follow Ed & Kateys way as just throwing everything at the wall and not bein afraid to make their characters yell scream make the goofiest funniest faces. It seemed like they all had a lot of fun but could still keep their characters grounded also, it all seems so believable especially for families like mine back in the 80s/90s. My dad had said Al BUNDYS lines more times than not. Sad but true. But this show was real in my opinion in more ways than people realize. And the writing is so damn clever. It all starts with Ed though. You can write a series lead as great as you can but it can never carry on unless someone brings that character to life. I’m so excited that we’re gonna meet and speak this week with one of the best tv characters/ icons of all time.

Yes, the day is almost upon us! Circa 1992 I asked my parents for a VCR and some bland VHS tapes for Christmas. I started recording the show every Sunday evening, and by using the “timer” on the VCR, was able to record the episodes that ran in syndication on a local CBS station at 11:30pm Monday-Friday. I had recorded every single episode, including The Lost Episode, before the DVD’s were released. Some friends would come over after the last day of school & we would have a 3hr Married with Children marathon.

That’s awesome dude. You were recording back when me and my brother used to bug our dad to record cause we couldn’t figure it out. We used to do same thing. Then a few years later when I saved up I bought a cheaper vcr from a pawn shop and recorded every rerun I could. I remember recording the final episode with the belief that it was the final episode but being pissed when they said it was canceled. It was like the tv guides and mags were makin it out like it was the last one when the cast didn’t even know. They deserved better. I want to put up a whole post about that sometime It ended on such a bleak ending

Same here. It’s funny to go back and watch them with the commercials and everything. I had like 7 tapes of episodes. I would record everything else with everyone especially the main Bundy memebers. I had every Christina thing recorded and a lot of Ed’s things as well. I had Ed’s tv movie Popeye Doyle recorded , the episode of tales from crypt with Katey, the episode of Jesse with David guest starring. Christina’s was awesome in all her shows. I would record Wild Bill on showtime, then married on fox, Samantha who on another channel, then friends and Jesse on nbc. Before she kicked ass on Dead To Me. She’s so cool. They all are

Hey David. If you get a chance can you show Ed this pic sometime. I tried to get the Bundy Grimace down. lol. I might go to Nickel City con. I’m still debating. Like 6 hr drive but the reunion pic with you and Katey and Amanda would be epic!!! The con emailed me back and said they don’t need me to work the con they were full. Still might do the drive though.

Yea. I have two daughters. Youngest graduated Saturday man. I know what that’s like. Hard to find free time. Can’t wait for tonight man. I’m listening to Christina’s audiobook for the 2nd time. It’s crazy the things people go thru that u never even know about, I’d love a Bud Kelly reunion on here with a Sibling double feature of two of your best episodes together. She’s so awesome, and naturally funny. Fingers crossed that I get to talk to Ed tonight!!!!

Al Bundy Week. My Dad finally gets a holiday and naturally it’s a celebration of a guy whose biggest accomplishment was not leaving the couch. Ed brought him to life so well that half of you mix up my real family stories with the episodes. And Tim, a Bud and Kelly sibling double feature, I’m in, as long as I get to pick the episodes where I’m clearly the smart one.
