Kelly’s secret admirer turns out to be a wealthy and very spoiled twelve-year-old, who uses a jeans commercial as leverage to make her attend his junior prom. Bud crashes the dance disguised as the DJ. Season 9 finale.
Season 9 Episode 25: Shoeless Al
Al is tied up in the stockroom overnight during a robbery and sues the mall for four million dollars, claiming he can no longer be near shoes. Then the bowling championship comes up, and bowling requires shoes.
Season 9 Episode 24: Radio Free Trumaine
A backdoor pilot set at Trumaine’s campus radio station, where two student DJs interview the new dean of students, Steve Rhoades, and are expelled for it. Bud is in the next studio competing for a girl with a live microphone open.
Season 9 Episode 23: Pump Fiction
Kelly’s film school assignment becomes a short called Shoes, which Al helps make and which wins ten thousand dollars of arts funding. His follow-up is cast entirely with bikini models. Marcy brings an alderman to the shoe store to stop it.
Season 9 Episode 22: User Friendly
Bud signs up for a virtual reality study at the university and becomes dependent on it, to the point of boxing up the possessions he no longer needs. Al, meanwhile, has found a light switch that does not seem to do anything, and starts taking the house apart.
Season 9 Episode 21: And Bingo Was Her Game-O
Peg qualifies for a bingo invitational in a neighbourhood she will not drive to alone, so she brings Marcy. She wins ten thousand dollars and then has to get home with it. Al and Jefferson, meanwhile, discover their beer has a new spokesperson.
Season 9 Episode 20: Something Larry This Way Comes
Larry Storch turns up as Kelly’s acting coach and Al, a lifelong F Troop fan, loses his composure. Al and Griff are meanwhile working a midnight madness sale dressed as wolves. When Storch is injured, Al takes his part in the play.
Season 9 Episode 19: Ship Happens (2)
The cruise ship sinks and the survivors share a lifeboat with Gilbert Gottfried, whose job is to keep morale up. Al sets off alone for help. Back home the press has filled the Bundy living room and Bud discovers what an exclusive is worth.
Season 9 Episode 18: Ship Happens (1)
Peg wins a cruise and Wolfman Jack delivers the tickets, then stays at the house with Bud and Kelly while the Bundys and Darcys go to sea. The ship turns out to have one clientele by day and another by night. Part one of two.
Season 9 Episode 17: 25 Years and What Do You Get?
It is Al and Peg’s twenty-fifth anniversary and both of them are genuinely trying. Al’s necklace gets buried in the backyard by the dog, and Peg spends all of Al’s money at a spa. They each decide to pretend they forgot the date.
