Jefferson talks Al and Griff into joining the National Guard on the understanding that nothing is ever required of them. Then a garbage strike breaks out and the three of them are deployed into it. The only episode of the series co-written by David Faustino.
Bud’s exercise video is behind schedule, his two stars will not work together, and Vito’s enforcer Gino is on set with a deadline and a laptop full of organ recipients. Meanwhile the NO MA’AM wives start taking bets on which husband falls off the roof next.
Kelly’s sitcom audition turns into an interview about her family, and the producer builds a show out of it. The Bundys then have to watch a thinly disguised version of themselves on television every week. Jefferson is not happy with his portrayal.
Al goes on a run of good luck and is certain it is a trap, because he has a theory about his own life that does not permit it. Jefferson tries to cash in before it expires. Everything collapses at the end, and Al is the only one who is relieved.
Al learns the shoe store’s owner has died and is bothered only that he never got any recognition from a boss he has never met. When Gary turns out to be alive, Al pays a man to impersonate him so he can hear it said. His resignation speech follows.
