Harold Sylvester
Harold Sylvester (Griff) tells me about being the first African American scholarship athlete at Tulane, going up against Pete Maravich at LSU, and walking off the court into Sounder, An Officer and a Gentleman, and Uncommon Valor before he ever sat down with No Maâam.
The No Maam reunion gets honest: one of the guys grew up dreaming of being a wacky sitcom neighbor and MWC made it real. Plus me getting roasted by fans for claiming Ed never broke the fourth wall.
David Faustino and the No Ma’am guys reveal the hilarious backstory of ‘How Bleen Was My Kelly,’ including Amanda Bearse’s custom crayons gift and the writers’ room secret behind Kelly’s greatest invention.
Our interview with Harold Sylvester on the MwC Podcast. This was my favorite interview we conducted.
NO MA’AM’s wrestling night collapses when the wives turn up to watch a romantic miniseries on the only television. Meanwhile Bud’s NO MA’AM initiation requires a photo with King Kong Bundy, so he gets into the ring with him dressed as a bumblebee.
Bud needs quiet to study for a scholarship exam and cannot find any, first at the shoe store and then at home. Then Marcy’s nineteen-year-old niece arrives from Los Angeles and takes an interest in him. This is the episode that introduces Griff.
