Peggy has been spending time with another man, and that man's heartbroken husband, played by Dan Castellaneta of Homer Simpson fame, is consoled by Al. Al is the worst person to console anyone, which is exactly why this works.

This clip comes from Married with Children Season 5 Episode 5, "Dance Show." Peg goes looking for attention and finds Andy, a charming married man. Then Andy's heartbroken husband shows up at Al's door, and Al has to deal with him.

Few TV couples are as quotable as Al and Peggy, and this scene adds to the highlight reel.

Moments like this are why Married with Children is still quoted today. The writing is sharp, the timing is perfect and the Bundys never try to be anything other than themselves. This is the show doing what it did best: taking an everyday situation and pushing it until it becomes completely absurd.
