Season 6 Episode 3: If Al Had a Hammer
Peggy is pregnant and the household has instituted formal baby meetings, which is where “Hail baby!” comes from. It is also the first appearance of Grandmaster B, and the last appearance of Al’s friend Norris after six seasons.

Al and Jefferson reach their limit with the pregnancies and retreat to a bar called the Paternity Ward, where a vendor sells fake identities to men looking to disappear. Al prices out becoming an ex-football player with a cool name. Conclusion of the two part premiere.

Marcy and Jefferson announce that they are expecting, and Al is delighted at Jefferson’s misfortune right up until Peg tells him the Bundys are expecting too. Al’s hair starts falling out. Part one of the season 6 premiere, and the most-watched episode the series ever aired.

A neighbor offers ten thousand dollars to breed his prize briard with Buck, and Al throws himself into preparing the dog for the job. What comes home is a bill rather than a check. Meanwhile Bud tries to attract women by dressing like a fop. Season 5 finale territory.
Season 5 Episode 24: Route 666 (2)
Al and Jefferson’s gold expedition actually strikes gold, and the discovery turns both families against each other almost immediately. Then they learn what the mine really is: a tourist attraction salted with fool’s gold. The season 5 finale, with Pamela Anderson in Al’s fantasy sequence.
Season 5 Episode 23: Route 666 (1)
The Bundys drive to Los Angeles for a shoe convention and break down in a tiny New Mexico town full of ancient prospectors. One of them hands Al a map to a gold mine, and Al talks Jefferson into financing the dig. Part one of the season finale.
Season 5 Episode 22: You Better Shop Around (2)
Al and Peg face off against Marcy and Jefferson in the supermarket shopping spree, with Al competing in a homemade armored shopping cart he calls the Cart of Death. Meanwhile Bud and Kelly spend the episode harassing Jerry Mathers. Conclusion of a two part story.

A heat wave hits and Al buys a war surplus air conditioner that blacks out the entire neighborhood. With a torch-carrying mob at the door, the Bundys move into the local supermarket, where they are promptly named winners of a shopping spree. Part one of two.

Al and Peg go across the street for a movie night at the Darcys’ and promptly take the house over. Bud lands a girl and a pair of concert tickets. Kelly takes a babysitting job minding seven children named after the months of the year, and it does not go well.
