Al trades the family car for a map to a gold mine. It is the kind of deal only Al Bundy would think is a good idea, and the family's faces say it all.

This clip comes from Married with Children Season 5 Episode 23, "Route 666: Part 1." Headed to a shoe convention in Los Angeles, the Bundys break down in Lucifer, New Mexico. An old prospector offers them a map to a gold mine, and the price is their car.

Any time the Bundys leave home, disaster follows close behind, and fans would not have it any other way.

Scenes like this are what made the Bundys one of television's most memorable families. Moments like this are why Married with Children is still quoted today. The writing is sharp, the timing is perfect and the Bundys never try to be anything other than themselves.
